There are a few different ways you can paint wooden beads with acrylic paints or tempera paints. acrylic paint can cover wood better than tempera paint can, so we prefer acrylics for coloring wooden beads. One method that can be used to paint a wooden bead requires an extra long toothpick and/or a paintbrush.

How do you seal wooden beads?
Finish your beads with 2 light coats of acrylic sealer. I prefer a matte-finish sealer. Allow the first coat of sealer to dry about 30 minutes to an hour before applying the second coat. Be sure to spray the beads outdoors and avoid breathing the fumes.
Can I spray paint wood beads?
The best way to paint the wooden beads is to put them onto wooden sticks (meat squires will do the trick). Stick the sticks into a cardboard box and then you can spray every angle. Just change the beads when they are dry and you can spray the next colour. Then use the Pintyplus Spray varnish to finish the beads.
