Take a 5w LED light and a 220 ohm resistor and connect it through the switch and plug it into a dc adapter or a phone charger. Now turn on the switch and tap the push button, the LED will glow. This means your switch is now ready for use, congrats. Now color the switch using a Red pen marker and you are done.

How do you make a homemade switch?
You can make a simple push switch with two pieces of aluminum foil separated by a “donut” of craft foam. The foam holds the pieces apart until you push on the center of the top piece of foil to bring the two sheets together to complete the circuit.
With a cotton cloth, rub tung oil (or your favorite wood stain/sealant) on your finished buttons to seal them and bring out the wood grain. Add additional layers of oil/stain/sealant as desired. Allow the sealed buttons to dry for 24 hours (or as directed on the sealant package) before using them.
Wood will swell if it’s submerged in water for a long time and as it shrinks back a decorative surface may be damaged. Polished (not varnished) wood buttons should not be washed as the surface will become dull. It is also a good idea to colour test if you plan to attach to a knit or cloth that is much lighter.
