What kind of wood can a Cricut maker cut?
Denser than balsa wood, basswood has a smooth, even wood grain – an ideal surface for clean cuts to craft models, toys, puzzles, or even small gift crates. It can be painted and stained easily without having to seal it first.
Why won’t my Cricut maker cut wood?
If your material moves as it is being cut, your mat may not be sticky enough. If your material is not completely cut, your blade may need to be replaced. Occasionally, the machine may stop during the cut, but additional passes are still required. If this happens, follow the on-screen prompts in Design Space®.
Can the Cricut maker cut through wood?
You can cut either wood on the Cricut Maker machine. Whichever you choose, just make sure it doesn’t have any knots. If a piece as a knot, make sure the knife blade will not have to go through the knot when cutting your pattern. Obviously, since it’s Cricut-brand basswood, you’ll probably get the best results using it.
